Inspired to level up her portfolio and resume, Britney and I grabbed the camera gear, and walked the neighborhood here in Queensborough, New Westminster to shoot at one of our favourite photo spots for portraits. With daylight fleeting fast, the goal was to create some updated, professional headshots for the upcoming autumn season. Photographs showcasing some contrast and texture on a backdrop found outdoors, and free from any studio confinements. In the not so distant past, we shot a similar portrait series in downtown New Westminster, however a fresh look is essential when entering the next stage of your career.
As professionals we tend to forget the power of a good photograph, and just how much it will set us apart from the pack. In this modern era, professional headshots are key for standout resumes and portfolios. Along with a competitive edge, it can also be an incredible confidence booster! To show yourself at your best, and in a manner that can be thoughtfully portrayed to potential employers, is a tactical decision that will always pay dividends. This we promise you. Even if applying for a new position within the same organization, the extra effort can go a long way. We as people are very visual creatures you know...
This spontaneous photo shoot was a success as we were both quite happy with the results. Britney's red hair colour is highlighted nicely by the white concrete background. A crisp set of shots, with a slight cool temperature created [in my opinion] a [probable] timeless photograph. There was an outfit change at the mid way point, so we will be posting part two of this professional headshot series in the near future, so stay tuned for that post as well!
